This live online course shares writing strategies for students to prepare to write competitive admissions and scholarship essays. Parents will receive sample prompts and guided writing activities to help students navigate the writing process during their senior year.


Instructors

Dr. Candace Chambers serves as CEO of Educational Writing Services. She has 10 years of teaching experience, with 8 of those years as a college professor. She has taught English Composition, Liberal Studies, Professional/Business Writing, and Entrepreneurial Writing courses at the college level. Dr. Chambers specializes in writing pedagogy and college coaching with a writing emphasis. She enjoys attending live theatre, painting, and traveling to new places to add magnets to her refrigerator.

Cara Zanta has been a Special Education Teacher for four years and loves that she gets to spend her days helping kids build confidence in the classroom. She earned her dual Master of Arts in Special Education: Learning Disabilities and Education Policy and Leadership from American University in Washington, D.C.

Kanika Welch is a multifaceted Program Director with a background in program development, education and training, and creative writing. As a former classroom teacher and nonprofit leader, she enjoys creating impactful learning experiences for all ages. Kanika is dedicated to helping others reach significant milestones and achieve lasting success through her coaching practice, which specializes in career development, personal finance, and accountability. 

Dr. LaShana Middleton is a life-long learner with over 20 years in education. She seeks evidence-based practices to help educators and learners achieve emotional, social, intellectual, and academic gains. Her knowledge and experience include providing professional learning to help educators and families grow in curriculum and instruction, teacher efficacy, learner agency, and equitable learning environments.

Robert Patrick is the CEO/Co-Founder of Precision Outreach Services, LLC, responsible for strategic planning, business development, fundraising, and coalition building. Robert brings a wealth of experience navigating the complexities of development and grant funding. He has over 14 years of experience in the intricacies of the application process, from crafting compelling narratives to ensuring compliance with stringent guidelines.
